Welcome to the website of the e17 Jazz Collective based in Walthamstow, North-East London. We have been running and promoting gigs in the E17 area for 12 years now.
E17 Jazz Plays Duke Ellington
E17 Jazz return from lockdown with a performance of Duke Ellington tunes at the Trades Hall in Walthamstow on Sunday 13th December.
Duke Ellington is one of the most iconic figures in jazz history. For some six decades he led one of the most famous and accomplished big bands in the world, and the music he and co-writer Billy Strayhorn wrote for that band became some of the best loved compositions in jazz. In this performance E17 Jazz will be paying tribute to Duke Ellington and playing some of his best known tunes including among others: Take The A-Train, In a Sentimental Mood and Chelsea Bridge.
The Walthamstow Trades Hall is a unique venue in the heart of E17. It has a large main room and stage and a well stocked (reasonably priced) bar – food can also be brought in from surrounding restaurants.. Its a short walk from Walthamstow Central tube station on the Victoria Line. This performance will be socially distanced and fully Covid-secure. This is our first collaboration with the Trades Hall and we plan to put on more events there next year.
